PAUL HETHERINGTON RYAN GIGGS is no nearer to his first job as a manager.
The Manchester United legend was linked with Wigan last week following the sacking of Gary Caldwell.
But the Daily Star Sunday understands that both parties regard the move as a non-starter.
Giggs, 42, is not pursuing the job at the DW Stadium and the Championship club have lined up a coach to take charge of the team.
That is thought to be Man United’s Under-21s coach Warren Joyce.
Giggs quit Old Trafford in the summer after being overlooked for the manager’s job when Louis van Gaal was sacked.
Jose Mourinho was United’s choice to succeed the Dutchman and Giggs then lost out to American Bob Bradley for the Swansea job following their decision to part company with Italian coach Francesco Guidolin. SOUTHAMPTON manager Claude Puel played in the same position as Oriol Romeu – but admits the Spaniard is a better player than he ever was.
