Gaga hits rival with Mad rant

-

LADY Gaga has taken another swipe at long-time rival Madonna during her smallest-ever gig.

Gaga told the 280 fans who turned out to see her perform at the tiny Satellite Club in Los Angeles that she is playing a string of “dive bars” across America to prove she is “the real deal” musically.

The Poker Face singer, who has similar concerts lined up at minor venues in New York and Nashville, added: “This is the real me going back to my roots. You won’t get that from most performers.”

Her boast is regarded as a dig at arch rival Madonna, 58, with whom she has had a long-running feud since Madge was photographed yawning at one of her stadium concerts.

Last month in a US interview Gaga, 30, declared: “She’s the biggest pop star of all time, but I play a lot of instruments, I write all my own music, I spend hours and hours a day in the studio.

“I’m a producer. I’m a writer. What I do is different. I’m not just rehearsing over and over again to put on a show.”

The singers, who are widely regarded as two of the top female names in music today, have publicly traded insults for years.

In 2012, Madonna claimed Gaga turned down her invitation to make peace by performing a duet live on stage.

Later, Madge played snippets of Gaga’s hit Born This Way during her MDNA Tour to point out to fans its similarities with her earlier song Express Yourself.
