MASOOD’S SET TO SAY GOODBYE

ALBERT Square’s Masood Ahmed confides in close pal Jane Beale after receiving some surprising news about his ex-wife Zainab.

Bosses are keeping quiet about the exact nature of the revelation concerning Zainab, but it forces Masood to consider a future away from Walford.

Actor Nitin Ganatra recently said he would be leaving the soap and it looks like Zainab could well be the trigger for his departure. He turns to long-term friend Jane and asks for her advice about what he should do.

Former flame Carmel Kazemi and close friend Denise Fox both do their best to convince him to stay.

An insider said: “The news about Zainab makes Mas have a long hard think about his future.

“He recently returned to the Square after leaving to go travelling with his young son Kamil.

“Everyone thought he’d left for good, but he returned after only a few weeks. This time it looks like he could finally be off for good, despite Carmel and Denise being desperate for him to stay.

“He has a lot to consider and needs to know that he’s made the right decision.

“If anyone can help him think clearly, it’s Jane. They’ve always been close and she is a great listener who is good at helping people make up their own minds. Mas appreciates the heart-to-heart.”

Fans will be able to watch the moving scenes, as Masood contemplates leaving Albert Square, from a week tomorrow.
