Ronan in grip of film

-

RONAN Keating has told how he became angry and short-tempered while filming harrowing new World War II movie Another Mother’s Son.

The former Boyzone star said he struggled to separate fact from fiction and often came home and took out his frustrations on his wife Storm.

The real-life Mr Nice Guy told me: “It is a heartbreaking film. It was so hard. “I immersed myself in the experience and really took the character home with me. I became really emotional both on set and at home.

“I’d been filming some severe scenes and kept coming home really angry.

“Storm kept asking what was wrong and I couldn’t explain it. It was just pent-up anger and really intense. It was such a strange feeling.

“It was hard – I’m not an experienced enough actor at the moment to know how to deal with that.” Despite his struggles Ronan hopes the film, based on real-life events, will lead to more roles.

He added: “I’ve been chasing it for a long time. I hope it shows directors what I’m capable of.”

I caught up with Ronan at his 11th star-studded Emerald & Ivy Ball, which raised over £600,000 for the Marie Keating Foundation and Cancer Research UK.

Stars supporting included Rod Stewart, Shayne Ward, Stacey Solomon, Abbey Clancy, Peter Crouch and Jess Wright. NAUGHTY Boy, Bollywood star Bipasha Basu, Geordie Shore’s Gaz Beadle, EastEnders’ Richard Blackwood, Made In Chelsea’s Olivia Bentley and Gogglebox duo Sandy and Sandra were just some of the celebs expected at last night’s India Pakistan London Fashion Show at The Gibson Hall. The IPL event was held in partnership with Sterling Media and HRH The Prince Of Wales’ British Asian Trust.
