Kell’s no Khan do

BROOK FEAR OVER DREAM BOUT

-

KELL BROOK fears his dream fight against Amir Khan will now never become a reality.

Talks to match the British welterweight rivals broke down for a second successive year two months ago and they face different opponents next.

Khan’s £30million mega fight with eight-weight world champion Manny Pacquiao is being lined up to take place in the United Arab Emirates on May 20.

IBF world champion Brook, 30, is set to face mandatory challenger Errol Spence the following weekend at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane stadium.

And Brook reckons Khan, 30 (right) faces a second knockout in a row when he faces fearsome Filipino Pacquiao, 38, after being KO’d by Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in May.

He said: “I don’t know about fighting Amir Khan and I don’t really care any more. NICK PARKINSON I’m not stopping anything on my side from happening and I’ve been willing to bend on matters like the purse. “If everything was transparent then every boxing fan in the world would be behind me on this matter. “If my career does end and Khan isn’t on my record I will be able to rest in peace knowing that I’ve tried everything I could to give the fans the fight that they wanted to see. “I’m not going to be negative about the fight between Khan and Pacquiao, I believe it will be a very good fight and very entertaining. “I still believe Manny Pacquiao will stop Khan. He’s getting on a bit Manny but he’s still good enough and there’s enough energy in his legs and he will still beat Khan.

“Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach said Pacquiao put down Khan in sparring and it’s one of those things that’s written in the stars.

“Manny has not stopped anyone for a few years but he’s fighting Amir Khan who is not known for having the greatest chin in the world. He will get to him and he will halt him.”

Brook, who is training in Fuerteventura, has switched his target from Khan to other leading welterweights, such as the winner of world title unification fight between WBA champion Keith Thurman and WBC king Danny Garcia, the Americans who met in the early hours of this morning.

But first Brook must get past unbeaten Spence. K-O: Kell Brook says he may never fight Khan
