Settled Moses is going nowhere

-

TONY STENSON ANTONIO CONTE says that Victor Moses has become a complete player at Chelsea.

The wing-back, 26, was handed a two-year contract extension this week in recognition of the stellar performances that have helped the Stamford Bridge outfit become champions-elect.

And Conte said he spotted something in a player who had been on the fringe of the first team.

He said: “I realised quickly that Victor could stay with us. “I remember during pre-season, when we stayed in America, I spoke with him and told him, ‘Victor, you will stay with us.’ “I’m happy to have this type of player. But I saw his potential quickly. I knew of him but to see him live is very important to judge a player. Victor was very, very happy when he listened to my words. He told me, ‘I’m ready to stay here and fight for you, for the club’.”

And Moses (above) is not the only one who is being lined up to stay with the Blues.

Conte himself is in it for the long haul.

He said: “I think my situation is very clear. I have a contract with Chelsea.

“We are trying to build something important with the club, for the present and for the future. I think the situation is very clear.

“When you start working at a new club, you hope to stay many, many years because it means you are working very well.

“You have the possibility to improve your players, to improve your team and to grow together. I think this season we are doing this.”

Conte, asked if he would treat himself if they won the title, laughingly replied: “First of all, I hope to win the title because it means we did a great job.

“Then, for sure, after a season like this, yes the players, myself, we all need a good rest.”
