MADRID TO HISTORIC DEFENCE

SEAMUS IS A SIX SHOOTER

-

SELFISH. Two of the top flight’s most lethal marksmen, Kane and Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, come face-to-face at White Hart Lane today in a lunchtime dust- up between two incredibly sharp shooters.

The pair, along with Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, have scored more Premier League goals than anyone else this season – 17 each.

However, the Tottenham man – who grabbed a hat-trick last time out against Stoke – has managed it in just 21 matches, while Lukaku and Sanchez have played three and four more games respectively.

And left-back Davies, 23, reckons nobody will be able to beat Kane in the battle to finish as top scorer this season.

He said: “His mindset is purely about scoring goals – which you don’t see too much of in the game now.

“You have to be selfish to score goals and be a top striker. You have to want to score every time you are on the pitch.

“Harry wants to play in every minute of every game to give himself the chance to score the goals. For us as a team it is great to have someone like him – he gives us a chance in every game.

“He scores enough goals that he would have trouble celebrating them all. “His motivation is goals. “That selfishness to score and help the team is invaluable. That desire to put the ball in the net is great.

“I can seen him winning the Golden Boot – he’s got the determination.

“He’s got every opportunity and the games coming up are ones we have got to win so hopefully the goals will come.”

Given how strong Chelsea have been all season, most people are of the opinion that Spurs are currently winning the race to be best of the rest.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are 10 points behind their rivals from Stamford Bridge with 12 games to go but Welshman Davies is refusing to throw in the title towel.

He said: “We are all aware of the gap but it is up to us to keep winning and hope that they slip up.

“It is going to be tough but, like I said, they might slip up and when they do we have to take advantage.

“Other results are out of our hands and we can only do what we can. We have to keep believing. It would be silly not to in Zinedine Zidane’s side’s record-breaking unbeaten run of 40 games coincided with the former Tottenham man’s most recent absence and a barren run in front of goal for Benzema.

Salgado, who finished his career at Ewood Park, lives and breathes Madrid and is even married to the daughter of former club president Lorenzo Sanz.

He praised Bale for making a success of his Madrid switch after revealing how difficult it is for players who swap the Premier League for La Liga, having won trophies alongside English heroes Michael Owen and Steve McManaman. He said: “I know what it is like having played there for 10 years.

“They want you to be in the fabric of their lives and it is not easy for players to move from England and assert themselves in Spain.

“It is very different to English football in terms of style and then you have the levels of scrutiny and attention, especially if you are at Real Madrid.

“It is a bit like playing for the English national team in terms of pressure.

“I do not think there is a club in England that can compare in terms of the level of GARRY DOYLE SEAMUS COLEMAN is still dreaming of crashing the European party.

The Everton full-back has not given up on his side’s chance of leapfrogging Manchester United and sneaking into the top six.

Ronald Koeman’s Toffees have won six and drawn three of their last nine games and if they can keep that run going against Tottenham today – one of four top-six sides they have taken points off this season – then the unlikely scenario could yet unfold.

Coleman, 28, said: “We have been playing well recently.

“We got off to a decent start this season winning four and drawing one of our first five league games – then it was a tricky spell and the top six pulled away in that period.

“We have been left to play catch-up and want to stay in touch. We want to look up rather than down.

“The top six are difficult to compete with because of the money they have and the number of talented players in their squads – but we have to try and hold on to their tails. “We have to believe.” Last year the team who believed in the impossible were Leicester.

And Coleman admits the Foxes’ capture of the Premier League is an inspiration to every team.

He said: “That was an amazing story and I continue to be so impressed by what they did because I know how hard it is to go week-in and week-out and keep getting results.

“There are so many hard grounds to go to, so many games where you can slip up. But they handled everything so well.

“That’ll be very difficult for anyone, to replicate.

“You have to keep going and going, though.”

Seamus Coleman was promoting Spar’s healthy

eating campaign attention and analysis of everything you do on and off the pitch.

“There are no excuses good enough even if you lose just one match for Real Madrid. There is nowhere to hide. Ask Michael Owen about it. He did very well over there and it takes a really special player to succeed there.

“Bale is special too and I think he can become an even more important player than he is now.” RARING TO GO AGAIN: Bale should feature in Italy on Tuesday atmosphere towards him for a long time.”

Wenger, who has made it clear he wants to stay, will wait until the last possible moment before making a final decision.

But demands for change in the Arsenal hotseat show little sign of easing.

The anti-Wenger brigade will hold a protest march on Tuesday before the Gunners’ Champions League home leg against Bayern Munich.

Wenger will be looking to see what, if any, impact that has inside the ground later in the evening.

After the North Londoners’ disastrous 5-1 thumping in Munich three weeks ago, the Frenchman admitted winning back the doubters at the club was a priority.

With Premier League and Champions League ambitions seemingly in tatters for another year, securing a seventh FA Cup triumph – along with the annual top-four finish – is his best hope of doing that.

Yet even that might not be enough to stop the vocal hate mob finally getting their way – and driving Wenger out of his beloved Arsenal.
