Everest a new high for Amy
JAMES INGHAM THE JUMP star Amy Willerton is set to climb Mount Everest with her boyfriend.
The self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie could scale the world’s highest mountain next year with entrepreneur Daniel Day.
Model Amy, who finished fourth on the Channel 4 reality show early this month, said: “I love facing my fears and try to set myself one challenge a year.
“My boyfriend really wants to do Everest so we are thinking about that.
“I’m not too convinced though because I’ve seen the film where loads of people died, which has freaked me out a bit.
“My boyfriend is competitive like me so I think he got jealous of me doing The Jump and now wants to go one better by doing Everest.”
Amy, 24, and Daniel are planning to go backpacking around the world this summer as she takes a break from showbusiness.
But the fitness fanatic is already planning her next big challenge.
And despite more than 280 people dying in the attempt to climb the mountain, Amy said: “Everest is obviously the ultimate.
“Imagine being able to say you have climbed Everest. That would be amazing.
“It would be freezing but I’m used to the cold after The Jump. It was -27 in Austria and I snapped my scarf in half where it had frozen solid.”
If the couple don’t climb Everest, they might consider tackling Mount Kilimanjaro or the Inca Trail.
“There’s so many things to do,” said Amy. “Another option would be a cycle ride across India. We are looking to do something big for charity.
“I’ve joined the Russian circus, I sailed from New York to London, I did I’m A Celebrity and The Jump.
“Now I’m ready for the next big challenge.”
