Mum’s £25k Disney habit is taking the
DISNEY super-fan Sarah Walters has splashed out more than £25,000 on her obsession.
The mum-of-one has £7,000 worth of Disney tattoos, her home has Disney wallpaper and she has run out of room to store her Disney toys and goodies.
The barmaid, 30, has turned her daughter Beth’s bedroom into a tribute to Star Wars – now a Disney franchise – and even her loo is decked out in Disney gear.
Her dog is named after Anna from Frozen and she had a Disney- EXCLUSIVE EMILY HALL themed 30th birthday party for which she got dressed up as Mary Poppins. And every Christmas her tree is based on the brand’s cartoon characters. She said: “I am a major Disney fan – my whole house is Disney!” Sarah blames her obsession on husband Robbie, who she wed aged 17. The pair renewed their vows in 2014, with Sarah losing eight stone for the ceremony. Because neither had been to Walt Disney World as kids, Robbie sug- gested they make the trip to celebrate both their decade of marriage and Sarah’s amazing weight loss.
It was there that Sarah caught the Disney bug. Returning home to York, she began collecting Disney cups and snow globes.
Her collection of 25 snow globes is now worth more than £5000.
And the house is bursting at the seams with Disney items stuffed in display cabinets.
She said: “Robbie doesn’t mind. He came home one day and the dining room was Mickey Mouse.
“He loves it! He was the one who wanted to go to Disney World. He got me into it. I blame him.”
Sarah and Robbie have also visited Disney theme parks six times since 2014 and Sarah has bought two annual passes at £400 a time.
She is now planning more tattoos to add to her full sleeve based on the Phantom Manor ride at Disneyland Paris, where they are planning to go on holiday later this year.
She added: “I don’t know why I love it so much. It’s just magical.
“If I had more money, I’d get even more stuff.”
