Si: Sarah to be big as SuBo

-

‘INCREDIBLE’: BGT teen ED GLEAVE SIMON Cowell is plotting to make BGT favourite Sarah Ikumu a superstar in America – just like Susan Boyle.

He reckons the schoolgirl will be just as popular as SuBo, who found fame on the show in 2009.

Talented Sarah, 15, from Milton Keynes, left the judges stunned at her audition when the show returned earlier this month. Simon, below, was so impressed he made her his golden buzzer choice – guaranteeing her a place in the live shows.

His close friend Sinitta has now revealed he plans to make Sarah famous in the US.

She said: “Americans will get her. I am thinking it is a very difficult album to make because she’s so powerful and incredible. What kind of writers can write songs that will give her the room to express all of that…all of that art? But Simon has access to the best, so let’s see what happens.” When eccentric Susan auditioned for BGT eight years ago she became an overnight sensation around the globe. Her first album hit No.1 in eight countries, with sales topping 10million.

Simon now thinks Sarah could do just as well.

Sinitta said: “Simon alerted me from LA before the show aired and said, ‘wait till you see’. I love it when he does that because I cried, and then I had my mother over on the Sunday to watch it back and it made her cry too.” BGT is set to stay on TV until at least 2019 as part of a three-year deal with ITV. But Sinitta reckons talented acts like Sarah mean it can continue for far longer.

She said: “We are not running out of talent.

“In fact we’ve got the super-crazy mega talents now, who have grown up with role models like Leona Lewis.”
