The other teams had Mour luck

-

JOSE MOURINHO claims Manchester United are having to battle bad luck as well as injuries as they attempt to clinch Champions League qualification.

A study conducted last week, based on multiple factors including hitting the woodwork, red cards and missed chances, concluded that Mourinho has been the Premier League’s unluckiest manager this season.

The report highlighted hitting the post or bar the most – 16 times – and his team missing 34 chances.

And the United boss (above) said: “We haven’t always come away with what we deserved.

“That’s particularly been the case at Old Trafford, where there have been many great performances this season.

“But we have to forget about the trophy we have won – the League Cup – and concentrate on the remaining Premier League games and also the semi-final of the Europa League.

“If the players give me everything, I take that. If players don’t give everything they can, I ask for more.”

United go into today’s match against Swansea at Old Trafford with Marouane Fellaini the latest absentee after his red card against City in the Manchester derby on Thursday night.

Mourinho’s men will be trying to establish a club record in a single top-flight season of 25 league matches without defeat.
