Kate’s joy as Pippa ties the knot

- by FELICITY CROSS

PIPPA Middleton wed her millionaire sweetheart yesterday with her royal sister by her side.

Kate beamed as the newlyweds puckered up for their first kiss as Mr and Mrs. The world was watching as Pippa, whose pert bum was the talk of her sister’s wedding to Prince William, married James Matthews.

But this time it was her sister’s royal tots who stole the limelight.

PRINCE George and Princess Charlotte stole the show at Pippa Middleton’s wedding.

But their hilarious antics earned them a telling-off from mum Kate.

As his aunt left the church the naughty future king even appeared to creep up and tread on the train of her £40,000 dress.

The royal tots had been ordered to be on their best behaviour as they proudly acted as page boy and bridesmaid.

But the peace didn’t last long and the little ones emerged from St Mark’s Church in Englefield, Berks with grumpy faces.

George, three, had a tantrum outside the gates, while two-year-old Charlotte was seen with a tear-stained face. Kate was spotted desperately shushing the group of children and speaking sternly to George.

The Daily Star Sunday can reveal that Wills’ and Kate’s “little monkeys” were on their usual hilarious form in the ceremony.

George got a ticking-off for tugging on the bridesmaids’ dresses because he wanted to lead them down the aisle. And Charlotte refused to keep her floral headband on.

Our source revealed: “All the kids had been lectured about being on their best behaviour. But George wouldn’t be the little monkey everyone knows and loves without his usual antics.

“He was tugging on the dresses because he wanted to rush down the aisle, and when it got started he refused to sit still and was such a fidget. He hates standing in line, and wants to be running about.

“Charlotte had everyone in stitches because three times she tugged her headband off and threw it on the floor.

“Kate was less than chuffed and gave them a talking to, but no-one in the congregation could be cross – they are the cutest kids! Charlotte was whisked off for a nap and soon it was all smiles again.”

Nothing could ruin Pippa’s big day, as she married hedge fund boss James Matthews, 41.

The 33-year-old was stunning in her Giles Deacon lace gown. Big sister Kate looked immaculate in a peach Alexander McQueen dress – yet still managed to not upstage the bride.

Pippa was dubbed “her royal hotness” after her clingy bridesmaid dress stole the limelight on Kate’s big day in 2011.

Her own wedding was a star-studded affair, with Made In Chelsea lothario Spencer Matthews acting as best man. Tennis ace Roger Federer, TV host Donna Air and Princess Eugenie all attended.

One famous face was missing as Prince Harry attended without American girlfriend Meghan Markle. Our source revealed: “The idea of her future sister-in-law’s wedding turning into a media circus with her at the centre horrified Meg, so she and Harry decided it was best she just joined them later for the private evening do.”

After the 45-minute ceremony, guests had a champagne reception at Englefield House. The newlyweds left behind the wheel of the oldest-surviving Jaguar E-type.

Guests went on to enjoy a five-course meal in a £100,000 glass marquee at the Middletons’ mansion. Later, the glasshouse was transformed into an adults-only 80s disco.
