LIKE JEREMY BOT BETTER...

‘KYLE’ ANDROID TO SOLVE STARS’ PROBLEMS

- ■ EXCLUSIVE by CHARLES YATES

A ROBOT “Jeremy Kyle” is coming to TV in a show that uses artificial intelligence to resolve real-life dilemmas.

Producers want celebrities to share their problems with a talking android which will then work out a solution using technology.

Double Act Productions are hoping to tackle family problems and relationship issues – just like on Kyle’s ITV show.

Their casting producer Kieran McCarthy has been contacting showbiz agents nationwide looking for personalities to appear.

One agent who was approached said: “I wouldn’t mind representing the robot, as unlike human hosts it would hopefully be happy with any deal I could fix.

“It sounds like it’ll be fascinating daytime TV. Jeremy Kyle needs to keep looking over his shoulder, as artificial intelligence could be the future.” A producers’ note to agents reads: “I wanted to share this exciting TV opportunity to see if there may be people within your group who may be interested.

“We’re looking for great characters across the UK for a big new prime-time show on one of the main terrestrial channels.

“We’re looking for stories where there is a dilemma or a couple, family or friends needing to make a big decision. This could be just about anything – big or small!

“Are you worried about your partner’s health? Do you want to have plastic surgery but your partner is against it?

“Do you want to get married or have a baby but your partner isn’t committing? Have you had a falling out with a family member and want to sort it?

“We’re trialling a new technology that helps couples, family members or friends make key decisions by talking to a state-of -the-art robot! We’re looking for great characters to visit London for one day to see how this technology can help them in their situation.”

The email did not mention which channel would be screening the show.

It went on: “It’s part of a highprofile artificial intelligence season on one of the nation’s most popular and respected channels.

“It should be a unique experience for those involved and the filming will take place for a day in London in September.

“If you have any big decisions to make around health, relationships, sex or family we want to hear from you!”

Until now, artificial intelligance characters have featured in fictitious roles, most recently Humans and Westworld.

But the rise of the machines is coming, with Google working on a project to build worker robots with personalities.
