Brit dies hours into Ibiza hol

-

FRIENDS and family have paid tribute to a British youngster who died after jetting into the Ibizan party resort of San Antonio.

Jack McDonnell, 22 on Tuesday, shared a video on social media last week of an Ibiza pool party and wrote: “Where I’ll be in 48 hours.”

Yesterday, loved ones were grieving the death of the former business studies student from Stafford, West Midlands.

Cousin Tom McDonnell said: “Jack was an amazing person. Anyone who knew him would have known he would have done anything for anyone, no matter who you were or where you came from.”

Former work colleague David Whitfield added: “Absolutely stunned to hear such sad news. Remembered him at work and taken far, far too soon.”

Jack, who worked for a retail merchandising firm, had arrived in Ibiza and headed straight out to go partying with friends.

But he was rushed to a health centre in the early hours of Friday morning after he collapsed.

He went into cardiac arrest shortly afterwards and health workers tried to save him using CPR.

A Spanish official said: “A judicial report was prepared because the death could have occurred in the context of drug consumption.”
