McGregor spared jail for fracas

-

CAGE fighter Conor McGregor is to be spared jail over his bloody New York bus rampage.

The Irish UFC icon, 30, faced up to seven years behind bars over the attack in April.

McGregor hurled a metal trolley through the window of a coach in Brooklyn after a UFC event.

Russian rival Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov, and fellow fighters Ray Borg and Michael Chie were injured in the attack.

McGregor faced a charge of felony criminal mischief. But under a plea deal that will be reduced to a misdemeanour, along with three counts of assault, he will escape with a long period of probation.

It is believed McGregor has also offered to pay “substantial” compensation to his victims.

The fighter – worth £76million – is due in court on Thursday.

A close source said: “He is desperate to resolve this and resume his life and career.

“He is desperately sorry for what happened, and will continue to comply with whatever he is ordered to by the court.”
