NEW Liverpool keeper Alisson says his rival for the Brazil No.1 spot Ederson backed his move to the Premier League.

Man City stopper Ederson was behind his pal in the pecking order at the World Cup in Russia this summer but happily steered his countryman towards Anfield.

Alisson said he talked through his move with all the Brazilians playing in the Premier League, including Roberto Firmino.

The Kop new boy confirmed he spoke with Ederson, who urged him to join Jurgen Klopp on Merseyside in his world record £67million move.

Alisson said: “Yes, we spoke. I actually spoke to all the national team players in the Premier League, asking about what the league is like and the style of play.

“It’s one thing watching it on the TV but being involved in it every day is another thing.”

One thing he is happy about is being on the same side as Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane after conceding seven in Roma’s games against Liverpool in the Champions League last season.

He added: “I’m really happy about that. It’s tough being up against them and the whole team.”
