Our source said: “Amanda has been a presenter for years but the public know barely anything about her life outside of work.

“This would be a chance for people to get to know her.

“And given what the tasks are usually like on CBB, it will be a chance for Total Wipeout contestants to finally see her as the one making a fool of herself !”

Other celebs said to be taking part include reality girls Gabby Allen and Charlotte Dawson.

Model Chloe Ayling, Strictly’s Brendan Cole, Corrie’s Ryan Thomas and presenter John Leslie are also rumoured to be possible targets. A TV insider said: “CBB producers know if they get the lineup right they are guaranteed some drama and that will result in big viewing figures.

“It’s looking like they will have some really big names, controversial characters and, of course, some sexy girls.” GET ready for the most shocking series of CBB so far.

Show chiefs promise it will be packed with controversy when it hits screens next month.

All of the housemates are being picked because their lives have been controversial.

And the theme will be “eye of the storm”, meaning everything will be set up to spark drama. Producers promise “fireworks, fun and definitely a few storms”.

A CBB spokesman told us: “All of the celebrity names entering the house will have been caught up in their own media storm. And now the celebrities are once again putting themselves in the public eye.” Emma Willis, 42, is back to launch the series, with Rylan Clark-Neal, 29, fronting spin-off show Bit On The Side.

The spokesman said: “Celebrity Big Brother is all set with a whole new series of tasks, twists and surprises to bond, divide and entertain the celebrity housemates and viewers alike.

“Joining Rylan will be a variety of celebrity panellists, talking heads and an audience of CBB fans to debate hot topics, reveal exclusives and go behind the scenes of the main show.” Producers know the series needs to make a splash because it is facing the chop.

We exclusively revealed Channel 5 is considering axing the show along with the regular Big Brother.

In recent years ratings dwindled as they struggled to compete with rival offerings including Love Island.

Channel 5’s contract to show BB and CBB expires later this year and it has still not been renewed.

Network boss Ben Frow has already said that they are unlikely to return “in their current form” even if a new deal is struck.

A show insider said: “There is a lot at stake this series. It’s important for producers to show that CBB still has legs. If this series falls flat it’s almost certain Channel 5 won’t renew the contract.

“But Love Island will be finished by the time the series kicks off, so there is a good chance they’ll pull it off.”
