Gavin’s mixing it up

-

GAVIN GREEN was flying many flags when he was first man out at windy Carnoustie yesterday.

The Malaysian, 24 (left) is of Portuguese, Irish and Chinese descent – and plays his golf in New Mexico after qualifying for his first Major as No.1 on the Asian Tour last year.

Going out with marker Keir McNicoll, the senior PGA professional at the host club, he signed for a level par 71 to finish three over.

He evened out two birdies with bogeys on the 8th and the 14th.

Green said: “It’s a shame about those as overall I was pretty pleased with my game. It’s a strange feeling, however, being first out and needing a marker.”
