LOGAN Wright-French can lay claim to being Britain’s youngest DJ.

The 12-year-old wows audiences at his live gigs – despite not being old enough to go to a nightclub.

Logan, who uses the stage name Kid Breaks, dreams of having his own record label and making DJing his career.

The youngster from Peterborough, Cambs, who has cystic fibrosis, began learning to DJ two years ago.

He said: “DJing is the biggest thing in my life – it’s what drives me.

“I love the music, the feeling, the atmosphere. It feels great seeing people dance to my music and something you’ve made.

“If I could do it when I’m older as my job it’d be amazing.”

Logan has been listening to dance music since he was a toddler.

He said: “I used to listen to breakbeat tunes in the car when I was three or four.”

Logan recently performed at Green Meadows Festival in Peterborough, playing five live sets over two days to hundreds of music fans.

He said: “The festival was an amazing experience – it felt like a club atmosphere.”

He has also performed live at the Old Pint Pot in Manchester. Logan added: “I’ve always got something on. It’s hard listening to music at school but I always listen to it when I’m going to and from school.

“Some of my teachers quite like my music and they even let me play it at school at events.

“My heroes are Stanton Warriors – they’ve got some of the best breakbeat. I also like Elite Force and I play a lot of their tracks. I also listen to Prodigy.”

Logan, who describes himself as a “chirpy kid”, said he can’t wait to be 18 so he can go to clubs and perform without any restrictions.

He said: “I think that’ll be the point where I can do a lot more.

“I’ve only been doing this for just under two years and already I’m playing live gigs. I’ve learned so much.

“I want to get to the point where I’m making my own music and I’m not relying on other people. Maybe one day I’ll have my own record label.”

His mum Kirsty French, 32, was in tears during her boy’s festival set. She said: “I didn’t realise until his first gig just how amazing he was.

“I cried because he was so good. It was just so emotional.”

Family and friends are raising money for Logan to get new DJ kit: gofundme.com/cdj039s-for-kid-breaks.
