Drugs chief is clobbered
A DRUGS boss has been jailed after police recognised his flashy clothes in social media posts.
Wellington Rodriguez Pena, 24, was behind attempts to smuggle £1million of cocaine into the UK.
He was caught when CCTV images of him booking flights for drug mules at a travel agent in Coventry were matched to his social media profile through his distinctive red leather jacket and red shoes.
Pena also arranged travel for another man who tried to sneak cocaine into Heathrow Airport.
He was jailed for nine-and-a-half years at Croydon Crown Court after pleading guilty to two counts of importing class A drugs.
Liz Versi, director of Border Force North, said: “This was a substantial quantity of cocaine which our officers have prevented from reaching the UK’s streets.”
