Foden’s waiting

- ■ by ADRIAN STILES

MANCHESTER CITY are in no rush to sign-off on a new contract for Phil Foden, according to club insiders.

City have been biding their time since the Stockport-born starlet turned 18 in May, with Etihad bosses determined to ensure the talented youngster keeps his feet firmly on the ground.

Foden’s family are on the same page as City and are being kept in the loop by director of football Txiki Begiristain with regards to when he will see his pay boosted.

Foden reportedly earns around £3,000 a week and City are willing to draw up new five-year terms believed to be worth £25,000-per-week

– but will keep the player waiting.
