RAMBO BATTLE Giggs so sure that Aaron will be in demand

GUNNER GO: Aaron Ramsey looks set for a move away in January

WALES manager Ryan Giggs expects there to be some serious interest in Aaron Ramsey when the January transfer window opens.

As the Arsenal midfielder runs down the final months of his contract, all the big guns – both in the Premier League and Europe – will be lining up to sign him, according to Giggs (right).

Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are poised to enter the race in the new year, hoping to snatch Ramsey,

27, on the cheap.

And Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan, as well as Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid, are among those on the continent watching developments.

Foreign clubs can begin talks with the player on January 1.

Giggs insists the intense interest is inevitable given the Wales ace will be a massive steal – whether for around

£15million at the start of 2019 or as a free next summer. Ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Fulham today, ex-Manchester United winger Giggs said: “He’s a goalscoring midfielder who, if he plays 40, 45 games, is going to get you 15 goals. They don’t grow on trees!

“Aaron’s a good character, he has a good personality and is a good professional. So if he does go, somebody is getting a very good player.

“But if he stays then that’s good for Arsenal and it’s good for him.”

Staying in North London no longer seems an option, though, after contract negotiations collapsed last month with Arsenal unwilling to meet his £300,000-a-week demands.

The Caerphilly-born playmaker – nicknamed ‘Rambo’ – has completed just two league games this season under Unai Emery, having been subbed in four and used off the bench in the other. But Giggs dismissed concerns Ramsey may be falling out of favour at his club and insisting he has the necessary talent to grace any stage in world football. “He can play anywhere, in any league, for any elite club. He’s played at Arsenal for 10 years and all these games for Wales,” said Giggs, whose troops face Spain on Thursday and Ireland the following Tuesday. “Aaron’s had injuries but I watched him against Cardiff and he played the whole game. And when he came away with us last time he was fantastic.” With his wife expecting twins any day, Ramsey missed Arsenal’s Europa League win in Qarabag on Thursday night.

But he is in contention to face Fulham at lunchtime when the Gunners aim for a victory on the spin. Fulham v Arsenal, Today Noon, BT Sport 1
