‘Katie doesn’t realise how serious it’s got...there is a real concern’
PETER Andre is desperate for ex-wife Katie Price to get help for the sake of their kids, pals say.
As the troubled star checked back into rehab, Peter, who is dad to Junior, 13, and Princess, 11, is said to be “desperate” for her to get better.
Katie, 40, has repeatedly ditched rehab to party, and recently crashed her pink Range Rover while allegedly driving home drunk.
But yesterday she hugged mum Amy goodbye before returning to The Priory where she will spend £5,000 a week in a bid to get her life back on track.
A source close to Peter, 45, said: “At the moment there’s no plans for the way Pete and Katie share custody of the kids to change, or anything like that. But he desperately wants her to get better for Princess and Junior.
“There’s real concern that Katie doesn’t realise how bad the situation has become.”
Over the last few weeks, Katie has checked in and out of rehab for PTSD and cocaine abuse.
But her attempts to clean up have so far failed, and earlier this month she was arrested after allegedly crashing her £75,000 car into a VW and a hedge.
Katie, who is believed to have denied being behind the wheel at the time of the crash, spent the night in a police cell.
The former glamour model had been to a 30th birthday bash for ex-boyfriend Kris Boyson at a London restaurant.
A source said it followed an all-day bender after her break-up with toyboy Alex Adderson, 25.
But now Katie, who is waiting to hear what will happen after she allegedly flouted a six-month driving ban, is said to have signed up for a 28day treatment plan after loved ones urged her to seek help.
She has also rekindled her romance with Kris, who has vowed to help the mum-offive get her life back on track.
A friend of Katie’s said:
“The freaky thing is that
Katie always said she’d die young – she actually said to me she’d die driving into a tree or something.”
The pal added: “Obviously Peter’s wife Emily is a doctor so there’s very real concern on that side about Katie’s well-being, never mind the kids.
“It’s understandable that Pete is desperately worried about the impact this is having on their children. “There was once a lot of love there. Of course he wants to see Katie well again. He gains no pleasure in watching her self-destruct and the impact that has on the children’s mental and social welfare.” Katie has signed up to do another series of reality TV show My Crazy Life, with a source describing it as her “financial lifeline”.
Both Kris and her estranged third husband Kieran Hayler, dad to Jett, five, and Bunny, four, have been asked to feature in the show.
