Fling the Pting, Chris

FIVE episodes in and it’s clear writer Chris Chibnall, inset, is a bigger threat to Doctor Who than the Master ever was.

His latest fiasco featured absurd baddie the Pting

– a cute but malignant, oddly-shaped being that eats everything...so part Pac-Man, part Gemma Collins.

There was also a pregnant bloke. Yawn. Red Dwarf did that in 1988. What box-ticking delight will Chibnall serve up for the Doc next? Polyamorous Daleks perhaps? Some cross-dressing Cybermen? Odds on it won’t be a decent plot. Still, I suppose ptings can only get better.

DAFT Who monster the Pting could eat anything, but the script was still too hard to swallow.
