Yeini insists attack is best form of defence

- By MARK WALKER

ISRAEL star Sheran Yeini has warned Scotland they are coming to Hampden to attack and end their Nations League hopes.

The Israelis need just a point on Tuesday to top the group and eliminate Scotland from the play-offs. It is the first time in 17 years Israel have been in with a chance of topping a qualifying group on the final set of fixtures.

Boss Andreas Herzog says he won’t set his stall out to go for just the single point they need.

And Maccabi Tel Aviv defender Yeini (right) has urged his colleagues to go for the win.

He said: “It’s a super hard game in Glasgow for us. Let’s not kid ourselves here.

“So the important thing will be our tactics. We cannot afford to allow Scotland to go out and impose themselves on us. “We can’t wait for them to attack us. It’s up to us to take the initiative. “We have a group of really talented players who have already shown they can beat Scotland. We cannot afford to be afraid. “We expect the Scots to be aggressive and in our faces.

“So we can’t allow them to do this. “We have to match them all the way and go on the attack from the beginning. “Scotland played Albania at Hampden Park and were completely dominant as they beat them 2-0. “When they get their fans behind them they are extremely difficult to play against.

“It’s going to be the hardest game of our lives. “But we have the ability and character to win.”
