Fergie is charmed by Dalton
THE X Factor star Dalton Harris has performed the biggest gig of his career thanks to royalty.
The singer met the Duchess of York at a bash to celebrate 10 years of the charity Street Child.
During their chat they struck up such a close bond she asked him to sing for guests and his performance went down a storm with the crowd at Royal residence Kensington Palace.
Dalton told pals he was “very humbled” to be asked to sing by her.
In a post on Twitter he said: “Still on a high.”
An onlooker said: “Fergie looked absolutely delighted to meet Dalton. And he was obviously thrilled to meet someone so well-known and influential.
“They chatted about his story and background, which prompted Fergie to say she would like to adopt him.
“Dalton said overwhelmed experience.”
It is the latest boost for Dalton in recent weeks and he is now the clear favourite to win this year’s X Factor.
Bookies Coral have him at 1/4 to come out on top in next weekend’s final.
Spokesman Harry Aitkenhead said: “We just keep cutting the odds on Dalton and at this stage it would be a massive shock if he didn’t win the show.
“He originally proved unpopular with punters but as the show has progressed, more and more bets have been placed on him.
“He went to 6/1 when we went to the live shows and was swiftly cut further, meaning that plenty of Coral customers will be hoping he can deliver them a Christmas bonus by winning X Factor.”
