Lockerbie close call
SEX Pistol John Lydon and actress Kim Cattrall were both due to board the tragic Lockerbie jet, a new documentary reveals.
On December 21, 1988, 270 passengers, crew and local residents died when a bomb in a radio-cassette player blew up in the cargo hold of Pan Am flight 103 as it flew over Scotland.
Lockerbie: The Unheard Voices tells of those who did not make the flight.
Lydon could have been on board if not for his wife’s slow packing.
He said: “She just couldn’t get the luggage together in time so we cancelled the flight.”
Kim said: “I decided to take another flight because I had neglected to go to Harrods and buy a teapot for my mother.”
The Four Tops were saved by a last-minute change in the recording time for Top Of The Pops.
The show is on Channel 5, December 4, at 9pm.
