FILM SETS GO UP IN SMOKE

- ■ by MIKE PARKER U.S. Editor

SOME of Hollywood’s most iconic film and TV locations have been destroyed by the Malibu wildfires.

Locations for major movies including Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid, Doctor Dolittle, Pleasantville and three Tarzan classics have all been reduced to scorched earth.

And the sets of TV favourites, including M*A*S*H, Tour Of Duty and current hit Westworld, have been completely gutted in the inferno.

The Woolsey Fire – named after Woolsey Canyon Road where it started – also severely damaged the house used by Bradley Cooper’s rock star character in the remake of A Star Is Born.

Hollywood historian Cari Beauchamp said: “These are significant losses. A great deal of Hollywood history has gone up in smoke.”
