Daily Star Sunday - - FRONT PAGE -

British firms shell out £1billion on work bashes, while staff typically spend £150.28 on Christmas festivities, including £34 a head on food and drinks according to Printerland.co.uk. Secret Santa gifts cost £10 each on average.

Thursday is the most popular day for work Christmas parties with sit-down lunches and dinners the favourite formats. The average length is three hours and 32 minutes, while 17% go on past 1am.

Women typically spend eight hours planning what to wear and their Christmas party outfit costs £91.50. The average female party-goer spends £25 on sexy undies and 76% of blokes make sure they are wearing their best pants! Last year singer Katy Perry donned a Santa outfit for a festive party, while earlier this month model Demi Rose, right, squeezed into a skin-tight red outfit for the Christmas do at The Shard in London.

We’ll knock back an average of six boozy drinks at a bash and the equivalent of 22 pints over the party season. Some 3.7m of us have spilled a drink on someone at a festive do.

ABBA’s Waterloo is our favourite track at the party karaoke according to PRS for Music. But 10% of us have been disciplined or dismissed for our naughty antics at a do.
