‘Futility bill’ price is £37k

HOMEOWNERS pay a staggering

£37,000 too much for household bills over their lifetime, new figures reveal.

Research by the energy switching service Flipper claims the average customer will shell out that amount in excess payments.

The average of

£37,331 is based on what people overpay by not switching energy, broadband, home and motor insurance providers.

Mark Gutteridge, managing director of Flipper, said: “We know that many people find comparing deals and switching providers confusing. This is especially true for energy.”
