RECORD CHIEFS ‘OFF THE SHERI’

-

SHERIDAN Smith faces being axed by her record label after her new album A Northern Star bombed.

Her second release was expected to be one of the big hits this Christmas.

It scraped into the top 20 when it was launched last month and has now fallen to number 89 in just five weeks.

Record label Warner spent an estimated £500,000 promoting it. Sheridan, 37, launched it with a prime-time ITV documentary.

She also promoted her music on TV shows such as Children In Need.

The Gavin & Stacey star’s debut covers album sold over 100,000 last year.

A music insider said: “It’s unlikely Warner will risk another album of original tracks with her.”
