Car shaming’s load of hot air

-

THE problem of greenhouse gas creation is far wider and far more prolific than the little ol’ car industry. Despite what London mayor Sadiq Khan might say.

One city will not make a difference. We need a global culture shift and it’ll take generations.

Take food, for instance. My shopping basket last week contained plastic-wrapped “fresh” produce from Chile, Morocco and Spain. It’s shipped and flown half-way around the world because consumers demand it.

The food industry is the carbon equivalent of power stations burning open cast-mined coal. Unlike us soft-bellied motorists, it apparently gets off scot-free from legislation.
