Chris is cross at misses

- By MICHAEL HAM

CHRIS BOSWELL is under pressure to save his job in today’s crunch clash with New England.

Pittsburgh’s kicker (below) missed two field goal attempts in last week’s 24-21 loss to Oakland, including a last-gasp effort to send the game to overtime.

That saw boss Mike Tomlin outline that the Steelers would “explore options” at the position and those options would “include Chris”.

Boswell has missed six field goal attempts this season – his 62 per cent strike rate is the worst in the NFL – as well as five extra points.

He said: “I came here off the street. I was cut many times before that. I’ve always had my back against the wall since coming out of college.

“That is the position I’m in right now. We’ll just see what happens from here.”

New England will secure a play-off place if they win and either Miami or Tennessee lose.

Elsewhere, Seattle will clinch a play-off spot if they defeat San Francisco, but they will have to beat the ex-defensive star Richard Sherman to do so.
