Sarries were too nice blasts Farrell
OWEN FARRELL accused his Saracens side of lacking a killer instinct as they beat Cardiff Blues
26-14 to keep up their European Champions Cup charge.
The England captain’s second-half penalty double and a Jamie George try edged them home as they strengthened their grip on Pool Three.
Saracens will secure a place in the last eight if they beat struggling Lyon in France next month.
But Farrell (above) said: “In the first half we were too nice. We were just okay and that’s not what we are about.”
Glasgow beat Lyon
21-10 to keep up their hopes of qualification for the knockout stages.
The hosts led 18-3 at the break thanks to a brace of tries from winger Niko Matawalu and Adam Hastings’ boot.
Pierre-Louis Barassi pulled a try back but another penalty from Hastings saw them home.
Toulouse claimed a
42-27 bonus-point victory over Wasps to regain top spot in Pool One.
Tries from Yoann Huget, Joe Tekori, Romain Ntamack and two from Antoine Dupont plus 17 points from the boot of Thomas Ramos were enough to secure the win.
In the late kick-offs, cup holders Leinster ended Bath’s hopes of reaching the quarter-finals with a
42-15 victory in Dublin. Munster missed four penalties as they went down 13-12 to Castres in Pool Two.
