Smalling big deal
MANCHESTER UNITED defender Chris Smalling has signed a new contract with the club which runs until June 2022.
The deal also has the option to be extended for a further year.
United announced the England international, 29, had put pen to paper late last night and boss Jose Mourinho said: “I am very happy Chris has signed a new contract.
“Chris has been with the club for a number of years and is now one of the senior players within our squad.”
Smalling joined United from Fulham for £10million in 2010 and has played more than 300 games for the Red Devils.
He said: “This is my ninth season with the club and I am delighted to be continuing my progression with the team. It is a real honour to play for Manchester United.”
