Dele’s sure Spurs have depth to be real four-ce

- By NEIL GOULDING

DELE ALLI has no doubts Tottenham have the resources to deliver on FOUR fronts.

The England midfielder starred as Spurs spanked League Two Tranmere Rovers 7-0 at Prenton Park on Friday night to keep their FA Cup challenge on track.

And even though it was Spaniard Fernando Llorente who scooped the man-of-the-match award for a fine hat-trick, victory assured Mauricio Pochettino’s hungry side continue to chase for Quadruple honours.

They are third in the Premier League, face Chelsea on Tuesday in the first leg of the Carabao Cup Semi-Final and also have a mouthwatering Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund next month.

Alli said: “We need to start to winning things. It’s about time for us as players.

“We want to win trophies, that’s our aim. We want to win every game and every competition.

“We’ve been playing well. As players we want to get as far as we can.

“Some people might expect you to prioritise different competitions but we believe we’ve got a strong squad with great players.

“As players we want to make sure we compete in every competition. We’ve got to make sure everyone is on it.

“You can take your foot of the gas but you’ve got be consistent and keep performing at the top level.”

Spurs’ comprehensive win over Tranmere kept the club’s hopes alive of a first FA Cup crown since 1991.

But the Londoners have not won anything since their the 2008

League Cup under ex-boss Juande Ramos.

Alli (right) who gave an assured performance as captain against Tranmere, added: “I want to keep improving as a player and as a person as well and

2019 can definitely be better than 2018.

“I’m not going to stop trying to improve, I’m going to keep going and be better than I was last year and the year before that.”

Spurs had been flying on a seven-game unbeaten run before their shock 3-1 home defeat to Wolves at Wembley at the end of last month.

But since then they have showed their class having bagged 10 goals in two matches.

The win over Tranmere was their biggest margin of victory in a competitive match since beating Wigan 9-1 in the Premier League in November 2009.

“The manager didn’t need to say much to us, as players we were disappointed with that defeat to Wolves,” said Alli.

“We’d been in great form, so maybe we got a little bit carried away with ourselves.

“You can’t do that if you want to things and be a top, top team.

“The players all had a long look at ourselves after that – and we know we can’t let that happen again.”
