3 die in bak­ery gas blast

TWO fire­fight­ers and a Span­ish tourist died in an ex­plo­sion at a Paris bak­ery.

The gas blast in­jured 47 oth­ers and an­other ten were se­ri­ously hurt.

A gas leak was re­ported at the Hu­bert bak­ery but it was not un­til fire­fight­ers were in­ves­ti­gat­ing that the build­ing blew up.

Parked cars were set on fire and de­bris scat­tered across streets.

In­te­rior Min­is­ter Christophe Cas­taner had tweeted ear­lier: “At this hour, 2 fire­fight­ers are dead. 10 peo­ple are se­ri­ously in­jured, in­clud­ing a fire­fighter. 37 peo­ple are in a state of rel­a­tive emer­gency.”
