Spencer’s tragic loss of brother
SPENCER Matthews has opened his heart about losing his brother.
The reality star, 30, was just 10 when his beloved sibling Michael died while on a dangerous expedition.
In an emotional chat, Spencer said: “He was on Everest when there was a problem with the oxygen.
“Michael got separated from the group in a storm and was never found. He was my superhero, we were twins separated by time.”
Spencer’s family set up The Michael Matthews Foundation in his honour.
It funds educational projects in Africa and Asia.
Spencer said: “We wanted Michael’s name to live on. The money goes to the children and their education.”
