Pep talk inspires top Man

- By SIMON MULLOCK

BAYERN MUNICH keeper Manuel Neuer reckons Pep Guardiola has shown the German champions how to beat Liverpool.

Bayern face the Reds in the last 16 of the Champions League, with the first leg taking place at Anfield on February 19 and the return in Munich the following month.

Jurgen Klopp will fancy his chances of beating a team that went into the Bundesliga winter break trailing his former club Borussia Dortmund by six points.

But ex-Bayern boss Guardiola ended Liverpool’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season by guiding Manchester City to a 2-1 victory at The Etihad in the first week of the New Year.

And Neuer, 32, said: “I watched Liverpool’s game against City – and you could see that they are not unbeatable.

“We have all seen that they are vulnerable – and I really don’t think Liverpool want to play against Bayern.

“Liverpool are a classy team and have played a great season so far.

“They haven’t conceded many goals and they are also very good on the counter-attack and strong at home.

“But I think our chances of winning are 50/50.”
