Soleil is set for Carlisle victory

-

A LUNG-BUSTING three miles around Carlisle looks just the ticket for SAMMY B (4.35) and this lightly raced nine-year-old can bounce back to form and land the nap.

Lucinda Russell’s charge was a really good novice hurdler but has endured several niggly problems since November having visited the track on only two occasions since.

However, his last run at Ayr in February when just behind the classy Arthur’s Secret showed he retains most of his ability and off the same handicap mark he looks something to bet on here.

Earlier, the feature £21,000 Dalston Handicap Chase should be run at a hectic pace with no less than three front runners in the line-up and that may play into the hands of DU SOLEIL (4.00).

The selection ran a promising third over two miles here last month and will relish this extra half mile in the soft ground.

Richard Johnson has a good set of rides at Exeter and he can secure a double courtesy of BIT OF A DU: Du Soleil can score today HALLOWEEN HENRY

(2.40) and FOR GOOD MEASURE (4.20).

The former is surely better than his run at Ludlow last time out when he failed to see out the three miles, while For Good Measure can step up on his promising seventh to the classy Flemcara over course and distance here last month.

The Group Three Park Express Stakes at Naas should go to DELPHINIA

(3.40) who rounded off her juvenile campaign with a strong staying maiden success at Galway.
