BARRYMORE POOL GHOULS
Death scene used to sell home
THE swimming pool in which Stuart Lubbock was found dead was sickeningly used in photographs to sell Michael Barrymore’s “house of horror”.
Chilling promotional pictures show a bottle of champagne and four glasses in front of the infamous pool.
The surrounding patio is decked out with sun loungers and features a raised Jacuzzi.
Despite its dark history, estate agents described the bungalow as a “home of individual design”. The garden pool, in which Stuart’s body was found during a late-night party, was highlighted as one of the house’s “key features”.
Stuart’s grieving father has repeatedly called for the bungalow to be demolished.
Instead, the property has trebled in value to £1.4million.
Butcher Stuart, 31, died after going back to the Strike it Lucky star’s home in Roydon, Essex, in March 2001. His body was found in the pool, and it was later revealed he had suffered horrific internal injuries. He had allegedly been raped and killed.
Barrymore and two other men were later arrested but no-one was ever charged over the death. The exentertainer denies any wrongdoing.
Earlier this week a TV documentary revealed a new police investigation has begun into the tragedy.
A £40,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to a conviction.
Barrymore, 67, bought the house for £392,000 a few years before Stuart’s death. He lost it in 2005 when it was sold for £802,000 to help pay off his bankruptcy debts.
The house was sold again in summer 2017 for £1.4m after being advertised online with the shocking photos.
Stuart’s dad Terry, 74, who has campaigned for the truth about his son’s death, had called for the property to be “bulldozed to the ground”. Speaking in 2005, he said: “It’s a house of horror, that’s just about the right term.”
