MIN TAKES THE LEE-D
AUSTRALIA’S Min Woo Lee will take a three-shot lead into the final day of the ISPS Handa Victoria Open after carding an impressive 68.
His closing eagle – in high winds at Victoria’s Beach Course Club – moved him to 15 under par.
He holds a comfortable cushion over Marcus Fraser and Travis Smyth, who are tied for second. England’s Matthew Jordan is six shots off the lead.
Min Woo’s sister, Minjee – a two-time winner of the tournament – was five shots behind 54-hole leader Ayean Cho in the women’s event.
MARQUEE signing Aidan Sezer grabbed all the headlines in Huddersfield’s surprise opening win at Catalans last weekend.
But fellow newcomer Kenny Edwards believes Lee Gaskell will soon be hogging the limelight.
Gaskell, 29 (below) has struggled to establish himself at the top level since being released by St Helens seven years ago.
Edwards said: “Lee is so talented and everything just comes naturally. I see him do stuff in training that I’ve never seen anyone do before.
“He didn’t have a dominant half to steer the team around last year. Aidan will allow him to just play his game.”
Sezer, who scored a try and kicked six goals against Catalans, said: “We know we need to make improvements for Leeds. They are a team that demand success.”
Leeds were thumped by Hull FC in their opening fixture, but Ava Seumanufagai is back.
Injured Huddersfield centre Jake Wardle is replaced by the returning Jordan Turner.
