From Bo Selecta to Love Isle, the rise and rise of one of TV’s biggest stars

CAROLINE Flack was one of the UK’s most popular TV presenters.

She got her break in 2001 on Sky One’s Is Harry On The Boat alongside Danny Dyer and Keith Allen.

A year later she starred as Bubbles on comedy sketch show Bo Selecta, returning to the character in 2004.

Corporal Flack was her next role in Weapons Of Mass Distractio­n before taking on her first presenting role in Channel 4’s The Games: Live At Trackside alongside Jamie Theakston.

It was from that successful stint that she bagged her next job on When Games Attack in 2005.

In 2006, Caroline dipped her toes in children’s television, joining duo Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes on Saturday morning show TMi until 2008.

By 2007 Caroline was cementing her place as a top TV host on Comic Relief Does Fame Academy and Escape From Scorpion Island.

Eurovision came calling for her the following year when she took on the role of semi-finals commentato­r before working on Big Brother’s Big Mouth.

When cult sports entertainm­ent show Gladiators was brought back by Sky One in 2008, she was brought in as Kirsty Gallacher’s replacemen­t for the second series.

In the same year Caroline gave a glimpse of what was to come years later when she won BBC Three’s Dancing On Wheels with disabled partner James O’Shea.

Her next presenting jobs on television included The Whole 19 Yards and the BRIT Awards: Backstage in 2010, The Xtra Factor between 2011 and 2013, and then The X Factor as the backstage presenter for the live shows.

Caroline presented Viral Tap for a series in 2013 before her biggest moment in reality TV – winning Strictly Come Dancing with Pasha Kovalev the following year.

Caroline’s last job was gathering Love Islanders to the fire pit to deliver bad news and presenting Love Island: Aftersun between 2017 and 2019.
