WAYNE Rooney is a secret Mastermind who loved hosting quiz nights for England team-mates.
The former Three Lions skipper fancied himself as a question master, and used to test his fellow footie stars when they were away on international duty.
The striker, 34, started the quizzes to boost team morale, even when he was injured at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
England pal Peter Crouch revealed: “We would just spend time in the physio room. Everyone would go in there, you’ve got to have a massage or have a bit of treatment or sometimes just go in and socialise, or we’d just put a film on.
“It all goes on in the physio room and he’d run the show. He’d always be in there and there’d be quizzes going on, there would always be something going on that would keep you entertained.
“He wouldn’t write them. They were mainly Premier League-based questions.”
Crouchy, 39, said that he was surprised that England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson took an injured Rooney to the 2006 World Cup finals. But he added that it made sense because Roo was such an entertainer off the pitch as well as on it.
He added: “It’s a bit weird but because it’s Wayne Rooney, you take the risk. “He was always sort of jovial, he was great round the place, Rooney.”
