Spartacus star’s £61m for charity
KIRK Douglas left his fortune to charity, his will revealed.
The Spartacus actor, who died this month aged 103, had an estate worth around £61.5million.
He asked for it to be divided between a string of worthy causes including a women’s shelter founded by his wife Anne, who turns 101 in April. The Los Angeles
Children’s Hospital will also get help, and part of Kirk’s fortune will be spent on building 400 new playgrounds at schools in California.
Actor Michael Douglas, 75, said of his father: “He leaves a legacy in film that will endure for generations to come and a history as a renowned philanthropist who worked to bring peace to the world.”
