The hotel’s lobby has Art Deco stylings and polished marble floors, while a cosy seating area overlooks the ruins of the monastery courtyard.
If there wasn’t so much to do in Budapest, I’d have stayed in bed all day.
The bedroom was newly renovated with a stunning view of the river – when I say the hotel has a prime location, it’s not just spiel.
The king-sized bed was comfy and the walk-in shower great for a refresh. There was also a 42in TV.
At dinner, the view is again the only show in town. Ask for a window seat to drink in views of the Chain Bridge at night.
You can dine on steaks, salmon and schnitzel.
A buffet breakfast is served in the same restaurant with a good range, which includes an omelette station.
If sightseeing hasn’t tired you out, there’s a 24-hour fitness centre with windows overlooking the city.
Worth a mention is the babysitting service if you fancy a night without the children.
The service is as you’d expect from Hilton – top notch.
