WE LOVE EX-BOSS ED: JONES CLASH IS VITAL TO FARRELL’S SLAM BID

- PROVIDING

FORMER Ireland head-honcho Eddie O’Sullivan reckons Andy Farrell (right) can bring a Grand Slam home to

Dublin in his first season –

they see off the old enemy at Twickenham today.

Even though Ireland have three games left in this championship – only one matters, today’s crunch visit to England.

Win here, something Ireland have managed just twice in the last 10 years then the slam is on, reckons O’Sullivan.

“Today is the key game,” said Ireland’s head coach between 2001 and 2008. “If Ireland get out of there with a win then I’ve no doubt Ireland can finish the job off.

“It’s quite possible they will do it too, the absence of Billy Vunipola being critical to England’s poor performances so far.

“England at the moment are not the same England we saw at the World Cup. They’re vulnerable and they know it.”

Results back up O’Sullivan’s statement. England have lost two out of three matches while, in contrast, Ireland are unbeaten after two matches, including a superb win over last year’s champions Wales.

Mako Vunipola has joined brother Billy on the sidelines for England while Jones has failed to name the same side for the third week in a row in this competition.

He said: “What Jones is doing is unsettling for the team and leaves the players looking over their shoulder. They need to rediscover the swagger we saw in Japan. A World Cup hangover seems like it’s apparent.”
