What is the actual threat to the average person in the UK?
Despite the threat having been raised to “serious and imminent” by UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock, the risk to individuals in the UK remains low.
As a result of contact tracing – identifying who a person may have come into contact with – it was confirmed that five of the new cases of coronavirus diagnosed in the UK were all linked to one another and to the third diagnosed UK case. As such, they are considered a cluster, which is more expected. It has become more concerning that there has been transmission by people who have not been to China.
