A pace Ace EASTERBY TO CLAIM SEDGEFIELD PRIZE

JACOBS’

- HARD TO FORGET KATY ROYAL OUT THE GLEN

has been given plenty of time by Tim Easterby to get over a number of problems and that patience should be amply rewarded at Sedgefield this afternoon.

He lines up in the two-and-threequarter-mile handicap chase at 4.20 and the selection gets a huge 19lbs from the formerly useful top weight King’s Odyssey.

I think Bollin Ace could make his mark in a higher grade in due course if his trainer can keep him sound and this race could be the start of a notable career.

Since being stepped up in distance,

(nap) has transformed himself into a really decent staying chaser and he can make it three wins from his last four starts in the Sedgefield 3.15.

Henry Oliver’s seven-year-old has won off handicap marks of 107 and 117 and was then made the 3-1 favourite for the valuable Sussex National Handicap Chase at Plumpton only to unseat David Crosse early on.

That was unusual for this normally sound-jumping youngster and the handicapper has given him another chance to continue his upwardly mobile progress off a rating of 125 with Crosse once again on board.

Later on, top weight has been given a real chance by the assessor in the stamina-sapping 27-furlong handicap hurdle due off 3.45.

The former course and distance winner takes a drop in grade here and will relish conditions.

I expect her to be able to give the weight away to the likes of old Samtu and the tough-as-nails Duty Girl.

At Huntingdon, is the stand-out bet on the card following two strong staying victories at Ffos Las and here at the Brampton racecourse and can complete the hat-trick in the 2.50. On each occasion, this progressive young horse has absolutely powered through the mud and even off this 7lbs higher mark, the son of Millenary looks very nicely treated in this staying event.
