Dolly high hopes of vital cure
THE scientists behind cloned Dolly the Sheep may have developed a cure.
Their treatment for the Covid-19 infection – using immune cells from young and healthy volunteers – could be available to the NHS within weeks, it has been reported.
The team are said to be in talks with the Government.
The immunity-building cell transfusion has already been used to successfully treat cancer.
The study’s medical adviser Dr Brian Kelly said: “One of the key challenges of fighting viral infection is to develop something that is going to attack the infected cells and not the normal cells.”
